Frequently asked questions
See all questionsWhat is the Peppol network?
Peppol is an open European network that enables secure exchange of UBL e-invoices between companies. In Belgium it becomes the mandatory B2B standard from 2026.
What does 'registered on Peppol' mean?
It means the company has an active Peppol Access Point and publishes its receiving capabilities in the SMP directory. It can therefore receive structured e-invoices.
Why are some VAT numbers not found?
The company may not have activated Peppol with an Access Point yet. It does not mean they don't invoice, just that they do not (yet) receive invoices over Peppol.
Is the data reliable?
Yes. We query the official Peppol registry in near real-time, with a 24h cache to limit load. If the service is slow, we return the last known value with an indicator.
How many searches can I run?
Unlimited for normal human use (5 requests/minute per IP). For larger volumes, use our public API with a key.
How can I enable Peppol for my company?
Subscribe to Company Belgium: we activate your Peppol Access Point and configure send/receive in minutes, with support.
